easy monday

Well, Rita came and went, and aside from some apparent minor damage to refineries, the biggest hurricane story from Friday thus far is that reporters were back to clowning around in high winds, wearing goofy jumpsuits, mugging for the cameras in the rain.

So today, nothing too heavy -- grab a cuppa joe, and check out this funny Flash Animation "PetroTheism" by Mark Fiore. (I spotted this over at theWatt, posted by Ben.)

Rita did little harm to refineries, but it was less kind to offshore production.

Ironically, after 2 hurricanes ripping up offshore oil rigs, Bush has now spoken of conservation. However, his concern seems to be focused fuel prices. The sense of his statements is that conservation is only necessary in the short term to decrease demand. Apparently his long term solution is to build more refineries to increase supply.

Yeah - waiting to see the full picture on the offshore stuff.

Bush must have a lot on his mind these days.

I hope he can come up with a coherent energy strategy - we certainly need one...
