solar power

I'd heard of this idea before; Lowem just linked to the SolarMission project site and it looks like Australia may actually build one of these.

Assuming the first one works out, (It is planned to be twice as tall as the tallest tower in the world), can we build 1000 of these instead of 1000 new nuclear plants?

Two hundred megawatts, only emission, hot air. Good stuff. I wonder how many megawatts Fox News generates every day?

I agree with you, solar power energy is much better then nuclear. Solar power is essentially infinite, so it never runs out, unlike fossil fuels. The amount of solar energy intercepted by the Earth every minute is greater than the amount of energy the world uses in fossil fuels each year. Converting solar energy into usable energy gives off no pollution. And I hope soon it will be used everywhere.

I wish for people to wake up and ask themselves "why am i doing what I always do, still?"
In a nutshell the green energy would solve so many problems but then the polluting industries would become obsolete because they are refusing to acknowledge that new Cleaner industries would flourish without sacking employees. Imagine people feeling Happy?
But, the biggest problem is Over Population which means that every human born becomes a very hungry consumer and All Life on all planets is inter-connected therefore, in reality we are destroying ourselves.
Cheers,
